Treatment does not need to be voluntary to be effective.

Client motivations to seek treatment come from a variety and combination of sources; family, legal issues, employment, health, criminal justice system, social services and others. Fred Brown Recovery Services has extensive experience in treating clients who are admitted on either voluntary or in-voluntary basis. Our experience shows that recovery rates are basically the same regardless of the patient motivation for entering treatment. Once in treatment, participants are encouraged to explore the course of their lives and their attendant feelings. The participant is assisted by educating and confronting them on their denial through the use of interventions by staff, fellow participants and supportive family members. Participants are most often able to come to a realization that improvements can be made as they become willing to work on making changes.
